Handmade rings

This pretty ring is perfect to wear when you want to bring the feeling of a summer garden to your office or a party.

Dimensions and materials

It consists of a single pearl and about 15 peridot chips wire wrapped around the sterling silver base. The base is a size 6 (or L and a half).

Manufacturing technique

The sterling silver band forming the base was hammered, textured, blackened and then polished to give it depth and visual interest.

The pearl and some of the peridot stones were wrapped with .6 sterling silver wire to get the form and more peridot chips were wrapped around the shape with thin sterling wire to give the design more volume.

Inspiration

This ring has a distinct Art Noveau feel to it. I wanted to create something pretty with a bright summery feel to it.

This is a unique design.

Dimensions and materials

This adjustable ring has three yellow jade stones wire wrapped to the ring base. It would fit a size 6 (M) or smaller finger.

Manufacturing technique

The yellow jade stones are held in place with wrapped wire.

I made this ring when I was exploring some tribal designs.

The amber ring is a bold design and quite large. So suitable for people who like it when their jewelry is commented on.

Dimensions and materials

The ring base is for a size 7 or O but it is adjustable for sizes between 5 and 7.5 (K-P). The piece was made using sterling silver and amber.

Manufacturing technique

The setting for the stone is wire wrapped onto the ring base. Wirewrapped settings are commonly used for assymetric stones.

The sterling silver was treated with liver of sulpher to get the dark color.

Inspiration

I've had that piece of amber lying around begging to be used for ages.

One day I picked it up to see what I could make with it; and this ring is the result.

This unique ring was sold.

This ring forms part of Tangentine's tribal range. It reminds me of something that would be worn by a brave female warrior for a hunt.

This ring is approximately a size N (7). The ring base uses 4mm wide sterling silver and the stone is Chinese turqouise.

Manufacturing technique

The stone was wire wrapped onto the base. I was exploring alternatives to bevel set stones with this ring.

Inspiration

I'm interested in proto- and ancient history. The basic human need to manufacture and wear beautiful things is an interesting one.

The symbolic importance between created and worn art features strongly in various cultures. I try and explore this in my work. For this piece I had the concepts of being fearless and strong during the design process and the finished design looks like something a fierce warrior woman could have worn.

Dimensions and materials

This pretty ring is wire wrapped with 13 3mm (approximately .1") round black agate stones. The ring base is a size 6.5 or N. Please get in touch if you would like another size. Allow 2 days for manufacture. The sterling silver base is made with 2mm wide (.1") d-shaped wire.

Manufacturing technique

The technique is pretty simple. Close soldered ring base and wire wrapped the beads. The base was coloured with liver of sulpher to contrast with the sterling silver used for wire wrapping the beads.

Inspiration

I always try and make something different. I was looking for alternative designs to stone set rings when I made this one. The small beads on this one reminds me of grapes.

A simply designed ring with a Chinese turquoise stone set in silver.

Dimensions and materials

The stone measures approximately 1.4 by 1.1 cm (.6 by .4). The ring is adjustable but made for a small size. Recommended size for this ring is (N or 6.5).

Manufacturing technique

The stone was bevel set.

Inspiration

I liked the stone, I liked the silver - that's pretty much the inspiration for this ring.

I made this one after a hard day in the office. Nothing like creating when you're stressed about work.
